We offer Urgent Care services! What does that really mean though? Keep reading to know more!

Urgent Care Medicine is the provision of immediate medical services offering patient care for the treatment of acute and chronic illness and injury. Urgent care does not replace your primary care physician, but an urgent care center is a convenient option when someone’s regular physician is on vacation or unable to offer a timely appointment.

A lot of people confuse Urgent Care and the Emergency Room. So, what is the difference?

An Urgent Care does not replace the Emergency Room. The Emergency Room is used when a condition can permanently impair or endanger your life. Dial 911 immediately for any medical problem that appears to be life-threatening.

  • Deep knife wounds or gunshot wounds
  • Fevers in a newborn less than 3 months old
  • Heavy uncontrollable bleeding
  • Moderate to severe burns
  • Any form of poisoning
  • Pregnancy-related problems
  • Serious head, neck, or back injury’s
  • Severe abdominal pains
  • Severe chest pain or difficulties in breathing
  • Heart attack symptoms
  • Stroke Symptoms
  • Suicidal or homicidal feelings

Urgent medical conditions are ones that are not considered emergencies but still require care within 24 hours. These examples include:

  • Accidents & falls
  • Cuts that don’t bleed too much but might need a few stitches
  • Breathing difficulties; for example, mild to moderate asthma
